Phase 1: AI Assessment and Audit (5-Day Engagement)
The goal of this 5-day audit is to map the district’s existing AI footprint, evaluate infrastructure
readiness, and identify specific educator needs to prevent CIPA/FERPA violations.
Day 1: Discovery & Leadership Alignment
- Morning: Kickoff meeting with the Superintendent, IT Director, and Curriculum
Coordinators. - Afternoon: Review existing AUPs, data privacy agreements, and current software
vendor contracts. - Deliverable: Initial Policy Gap Analysis.
Day 2: Infrastructure & Security Review
- Morning: Meet with the IT/Network team to review bandwidth, firewalls, and device
ecosystems. - Afternoon: Map out accessible AI tools on student vs. staff networks to identify
“Shadow IT.” - Deliverable: Technical Readiness & Shadow IT Report.
Day 3: Educator & Classroom Observation
- Morning: Non-evaluative walkthroughs in elementary, middle, and high school
classrooms. - Afternoon: Focus groups with department heads regarding pain points (grading,
differentiation). - Deliverable: Classroom Use-Case Heatmap.
Day 4: Teacher / Staff Survey & Data Analysis
- Morning: Distribute and analyze a digital survey to staff to gauge AI literacy.
- Afternoon: Synthesize data to identify high-impact areas for future training.
- Deliverable: Teacher Readiness Scorecard.
Day 5: Synthesis & Executive Report Out
- Morning: Draft the final “AI Readiness & Audit Report.”
- Afternoon: Executive Briefing with leadership to propose the Phase 2 PD plan.
- Deliverable: Comprehensive AI Audit Report & Phase 2 Proposal.
Phase 2: Customized Professional Development (PD) Workshop
Using the intelligence gathered during the Audit, we deliver a highly targeted, interactive PD experience
for the educators.
Module 1: Demystifying AI & Policy
- A level-setting session defining LLMs and the district’s approved policies.
- “Red Light / Green Light” interactive scenario game for FERPA-compliance.
Module 2: The Teacher Time-Saver (Prompt Engineering)
- Generating differentiated reading materials (Lexile leveling).
- Auto-generating rubrics and quiz questions aligned to state standards.
- Outcome: A personalized library of 5 reusable prompts customized to their specific grade/subject.
Module 3: Combating AI Plagiarism & Redesigning Assessment
- Bypassing useless AI detectors by shifting from “Product-based” to “Process-based” grading.
- Designing “AI-Resistant” assignments (in-class defense, personal reflection).
Module 4: Student-Facing AI Collaboration
- Building AI “Tutor” prompts for students.
- Teaching students AI literacy, hallucination detection, and bias awareness.
Ongoing Support
- Train-the-Trainer Model: Bi-weekly check-ins with 3-5 identified “AI Champions”.
- Asset: A customized digital playbook for the district containing all policies and
